Maria Nikolaevna Vasnetsova, the only known survivor of the children of Nikolai Fedorovich Vasnetsov and his wife Yulia Nikanorovna, who also came from priestly families, was born on February 6, 1900 in the village of Chumoy, Vyatka province. Being the daughter of a priest, she graduated from the Vyatka Diocesan Women's College and devoted herself to serving people as a primary school teacher.
During the Civil War, Maria Nikolaevna responded to the call to go to literacy schools and devoted evening hours to eliminating illiteracy among the adult population. At the same time, Maria Nikolaevna participated in the work on the establishment of the public education system. To attract the forces of the public, “school aid weeks" were organized. Maria Nikolaevna took an active part in public life, therefore she enjoyed authority among the population. During the Great Patriotic War, she also taught children, putting all her strength and rich knowledge into them. Her work was awarded the Order of Lenin; In addition, by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, Maria Nikolaevna was awarded the medal "For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945." In 1954-1983 she lived in Krasnodar. Together with her husband, Kuznetsov Alexey Vasilyevich (1898-1949), the head of the post office in the village of Debesy in the Debessky district of the UASSR, she raised three sons: Nikolai, Viktor, Vasily. She died on August 13, 1983 in the city of Temryuk, Krasnodar Territory.
In 2015, her grandson Oleg Kuznetsov and his wife Elena and Shcherbakov's granddaughter Elena reburied Maria Nikolaevna as a knight of the Order of Lenin at the Krasnodar Military Honorary Cemetery, and in August 2016, a tombstone was also erected there in the presence of grandchildren Oleg, Elena and Lyudmila.
