Memorial service for Viktor Mikhailovich Vasnetsov

Traditionally, on July 23, a memorial service was held at the grave of Viktor Mikhailovich Vasnetsov on the occasion of the 91st anniversary of his death. Descendants of different Vasnetsov lines, many of whom also chose a creative path for themselves, as well as employees of the Vasnetsov House Museum, came to lay flowers on Viktor Mikhailovich's grave on this day. The service was attended by Archimandrite Dionysius, rector of the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity of the Moscow Trinity Monastery of the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra. With great gratitude and respect, all those present honored the memory of the great artist, who left a legacy of spirituality, faith and love for the creation of beauty. As if by nature's command, at noon the sky, hitherto overcast, brightened, and the sun shone everywhere during the service.

M. Nesterov wrote about his friend V.M. Vasnetsov: "... what Vasnetsov left us as an inheritance, not everyone manages to leave. This legacy will be radically revised more than once, and I believe that our Motherland, so selflessly loved by him, will remember him with a kind word many more times..."
