The Vasnetsov Foundation, together with the Abramtsevo Museum-Reserve, has prepared a unique, large-scale meeting of the descendants of great Russian artists. The Vasnetsov Foundation, together with the Abramtsevo Museum-Reserve, with the support of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Academic Bolshoi Theater of Russia and the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, are holding a large-scale, cultural forum "Descendants and heritage" ("Abramtsevsky (Mamontovsky) art circle"). The event can have a significant impact on the development of national culture and the preservation of its rich heritage. The event is unique in that for the first time the descendants of great artists – participants of the famous Abramtsevo art circle, including such famous names as: Mamontov, Vrubel, Vasnetsov, Polenov, Repin, Serov, Nesterov, Prakhov, Yakunchikova, Nevrev, Korovin, Surikov, Kiselyov, Antokolsky, Ostroukhov, Levitan, as well as guests of the estate: Chaliapin, Stanislavsky, Shchepkin, Tolstoy, Turgenev, Saltykov-Shchedrin, Gorky and others.
As of 06/14/2017, about 150 participants and guests have confirmed their participation. As a result, a new cultural venue will be created for annual events, including support for young talented artists, architects, sculptors, and aspiring artists. Living descendants can bring new ideas, diversify the lives not only of their own, but also of the entire people of Russia. Our compatriots living in Europe and America confirmed their participation in the forum.
The Abramtsevsky Art Circle is an informal association of Russian intellectuals (artists, musicians, theater workers, etc.). The circle was founded in 1872 in Rome. It developed in Abramtsevo, the estate of entrepreneur and philanthropist S. I. Mamontov, located near Sergiev Posad.
The State Historical, Artistic and Literary Museum-Reserve "Abramtsevo" was established on October 10, 1918. Its first director was the daughter of the owner of the estate, Alexandra Savvishna Mamontova. Today, the territory of the museum occupies about 50 hectares, includes architectural monuments of the XVIII — XIX centuries and a picturesque park. The museum houses more than 25 thousand exhibits: paintings, sculptures, works of decorative, applied and folk art, photographs and archives of the former owners of the estate.
The Vasnetsov Foundation is a charitable foundation organized by the descendants of the Vasnetsovs, created to implement socially significant programs to support young talents and develop children's abilities, to preserve the cultural heritage of great ancestors, to form the moral and aesthetic culture of society. We strive to create a new format of talent support and make our contribution to the development and preservation of national cultural traditions of Russia. The Board of Trustees of the Foundation includes: Vasiliev Igor Vladimirovich – acting Governor of the Kirov region, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, Tregulova Zelfira Ismailovna – Director of the Tretyakov Gallery, Urin Vladimir Georgievich – General Director of the Bolshoi Theater, Eskindarov Mikhail Abdurakhmanovich – Rector of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.
